Wouldn’t you like to know
Know Her like the elbow
Knows to prop up a sigh from the lips
Like the knees only know
The weight of hips
Know Her curves and dips
Crevasses Know decayed Crypts
To Know Her breath
That leaves Her at death
Live within Her Waking Days
Sit within the way Her words sway
Off knees, without anyone to pray
Not found, but She hasn’t lost Her way
To Know Her
Would be to climb vines
Like varicose veins
Hop across Her spine like stones
Of boulders
Those that made Her colder
Older,
To sit upon Her shoulders
To Know Her
Would be to not knock
Upon Her door
But to water the greenery
Her self contained scenery
Leave Her be
To See how She Sees
..Enduring Winter Evergreen
Eyes the Doors of Worlds Unseen..
To Know Her
Would be to watch the foliage
Weave through Her hair
Sprout flowers of Tomorrow
Watered garden on teas of sorrow
Her love borrowed
Empathy does not cower
To Know Her
Would be to just
Be
Come as you are
And leave Her Free…”

I really love this stanza
“ To Know Her
Would be to not knock
Upon Her door
But to water the greenery
Her self contained scenery
Leave Her be
To See how She Sees”
I love how you painted her as an extension of a garden or forest or nature. I have a friend who would very much love this poem. I’ll share it with them!
